As Christmas draws near and a new year approaches, it’s a fitting time to pause and reflect. This season invites us to look back on the year that has passed—celebrating progress, achievements, and moments of encouragement. It’s also a time to look ahead with hope and expectation, grounded in the assurance that God is at work in the world. His love for creation is unwavering, and His divine plan continues to unfold.
Celebrating You and the Gift of Medicine
This year, I want to celebrate you. To everyone involved in healthcare, thank you for the incredible work you have done. Together, you’ve helped thousands of people. Your dedication and compassion are a testament to the profound impact healthcare professionals have on lives worldwide.
Let us also take a moment to marvel at the gift of medicine—God’s provision that overcomes disease, restores hope, and offers comfort. Ever-evolving, it moves forward with innovations and advancements that continue to inspire awe.
Embracing Spirituality in Healthcare
One encouraging trend worth celebrating is the growing recognition that spirituality is an integral part of healthcare. As Christians, this creates opportunities for us to bring our faith into our workplaces with greater confidence and authenticity.
A highlight from this year was the recent Heaven in Healthcare Conference. Delegates contributed God-inspired healthcare dreams, which have since been collated and submitted to the National Government for consideration in their 10-year NHS plan. What an incredible opportunity to influence future healthcare with a vision rooted in faith and hope!
Acknowledging Challenges
We cannot ignore the pressing challenges facing healthcare, both in the UK and across the globe. Yet, like Abraham, we remain steadfast in faith, trusting that God has the power to bring about positive change.
Looking ahead to 2025, we can be confident that God’s power is at work within us, capable of doing immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21). This is a hope that sustains us, even amidst difficulties.
A Prayer for the Season
As we step into the new year, I pray that each of us will experience:
- The hope of God that overcomes all disappointments.
- The peace of God that surpasses human understanding.
- The joy of God that fills our hearts beyond measure.
May 2025 be a year of abundant fruitfulness in every aspect of our lives.
With love and appreciation,
Pete Carter
